F.C.C. TSR Honda France finished the Bol d\u2019Or in 4th after battling for victory for much of the race. Having led the race for numerous laps and consistently been among the two fastest teams on the track, the team ended its season by climbing to 6th place in the championship.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 FIM EWC season ended with the 89th Bol d\u2019Or, held from 17 to 20 September at the Paul Ricard circuit (France), where 56 teams took part in this final round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hard-working and discreet during practice, the F.C.C. TSR Honda France team\u2019s CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP showed a different side on race day. After setting the fastest time in the warm-up and qualifying 5th on the grid, it quickly established itself in the leading group, with Alan Techer securing 2nd position straight away. Corentin Perolari then confirmed the bike\u2019s potential, setting the team’s fastest lap of 1’52.570 one hour and nine minutes into the race, before taking the lead. John McPhee took over at the front and extended the gap.
After a long battle with the #37 BMW for first place, the #5 Honda maintained a high pace and led for numerous laps. The consistent performance of the three riders allowed the team to pass the 8-hour mark in second place and pick up a further nine points for the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The #5 Honda, hampered by slightly higher fuel consumption than its rivals and a few technical issues, nevertheless remained firmly established in the top three throughout the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With four hours to go, the Franco-Japanese team consistently recorded the fastest lap times and consolidated their provisional podium position. John McPhee, tasked with pushing hard to pull away from the closest rival, made a mistake. The minor crash required only about ten minutes of repairs, thanks to the experience of the entire technical team, but pushed the #5 Honda back to 5th place. After a final push from the entire team, the riders clinched 4th place at the finish and picked up a further 24 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the race, F.C.C. TSR Honda France had 61 points and moved up to 7th place in the championship. After a difficult season, the official Honda team thus ended on a positive note: crossing the finish line with the pace and potential to fight for victory. The challenge for the 2027 season will be to capitalise on these lessons in order to reclaim the world title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe race is over and with that, the 2026 season is over. We\u2019ve finished, and for us that was important because it has been three years since we hadn\u2019t finished the Bol d\u2019Or. We showed that we were fast once again, we were battling it out with the BMW. With John and Coco, we had a pace that put us in contention for the win, but there were a few minor mistakes and we couldn\u2019t quite put it all together. Still, after this season, it\u2019s a pleasure. Now we know what we need to work on for next year and we\u2019ll try to get back on the podium as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\u201cIt was a brilliant race from start to finish. We were battling it out in the top three at the start of the race. And it all came down to the smallest of details. But that happens in every team. John and Alan really put in the work. John\u2019s crash wasn\u2019t serious, he was pushing hard as we all would have done with the YART bike right behind us. We missed out on the podium, which is a shame, but at least we finished the Bol d\u2019Or \u2013 that\u2019s what matters to me.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\u201cHonestly, I’m glad that\u2019s over! It was a long, long 24 hours, we did have some incredible pace at times during the race, but then we struggled to bring it all together. A couple of key points made it difficult for us to be consistent at times, but the Fireblade itself worked really well, the feeling of the bike was good. We once again showed we have the speed in certain stints to fight for victory and podiums. It\u2019s frustrating of course not to stand on the podium when we were so close, everyone from the riders, to the team will feel it. We will learn from it and hope to come back stronger, bring everything together and get the podiums and wins we know we deserve.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
