Why do people drink alcohol? Even I, as someone who drinks, don’t really know. So I’m sure people who don’t drink will never understand! (laughs) Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, so I’m not going to say whether drinking is good or bad. All I can say is that alcohol has brought me a lot of enjoyment—and also quite a few embarrassing mistakes. Yesterday, I visited a Peruvian friend’s home for the first time. I had lunch with his family. The setting had changed from Spain to Peru, so naturally, the wine was Peruvian! It was incredibly sweet! But drinking with his family made it taste extra special. And on my way home, they gave me a bottle of liquor. The bottle looks similar to the gin I’ve been drinking for many years. That’s the bottle in the photo. I’ve never been to Peru, but somehow I feel like I’ve gotten a little closer to it.
