4:40 AM France time.
The engine failed, and the damage was beyond repair, forcing us to retire from the race.
The cause was a broken clamp on the water hose, which led to coolant loss.
As a result, the third piston seized, and oil overflowed all the way into the port.
We wanted to repair the engine and restart the race, but the damage was too severe, and we had no choice but to abandon the race.
It is now just before 7:00 AM.
I’ve returned to the hotel and will try to get a little sleep.
The photo shows the retirement report, marking our fourth consecutive year ending this way.
As team director, I sincerely apologize for failing to deliver results, and I will decide how to take responsibility for it.
