1998 Suzuka 4 Hours Winner

The Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race was first held in 1978. The focus of Technical Sports (now TSR) at the time was the Suzuka 4-hour endurance motorcycle race, which began two years later in 1980 (at that time).

According to the data available at the time, the 1986 race “attracted 589 entries, about 10 times the number of entries for a race of 63 cars. Anyway, this was a time when there were around 600 entries for this race. Therefore, the qualifying round was held the week before the race (Saturday, the day before the Suzuka 8 Hours race), and each group (12 groups in total) in each category (TT-F3, SP400, and SP250) held 20 minutes of official qualifying and a 2-hour consolation race at the end of the qualifying round. Even after Saturday and Sunday had passed into the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Week, music festival events and classic race events were held every day, making it literally an endurance week.

1988 CBR400RR achieves debut win

The following year, in 1988, the CBR400RR, bearing the “RR” name, was launched and achieved its debut win at the Suzuka 4 Hours by the hands of Technical Sports. The entry name at that time was “General Mach G100 Technical. The name “F.C.C.” has been affixed only on a part of the body of the car for more than 30 years, which is probably extremely rare in the world today. The history of the steadfast partnership with F.C.C. and the history of TSR’s endurance racing as a so-called CBR user advocating “CBR is TSR” began right here. The history of TSR’s endurance racing as a so-called CBR user began right from this point.
