Spa 8-Hour Endurance Race — Five Hours Since the Start.

Round 2 of the 2024 FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), the Spa-Francorchamps 8-Hour Endurance Race, has now passed the five-hour mark, leaving three hours remaining.

Starting rider Alan Techer began the race from 2nd on the grid.

Although an engine-start issue at the beginning dropped the team down to 17th position, Techer fought back with overwhelming pace, climbing through the field and taking the lead by lap 19.

However, later in the race, on lap 30, Josh Hook suffered a crash.

Fortunately, it was not a serious incident, and Hook was able to immediately rejoin the race. He continued riding without returning to the pits until the scheduled rider change, bringing the machine back in 5th position.

The motorcycle had sustained damage, however, forcing the team to bring it into the garage for repairs. After approximately five minutes of work, Techer returned to the track and began charging forward again from 26th place.

Techer climbed back to 17th before returning to the pits for another rider change, but at that point a problem around the handlebar area was discovered, sending the machine back into the garage once again.

Several more minutes of repairs were required, and the bike rejoined the race in 25th position.
Since then, the machine has run without further trouble, and both riders have continued pushing hard. The team is currently running in 11th place.
