[EWC Round 2 Spa 8 Hours] F.C.C. TSR Honda France Shines in Tough Conditions

2025.06.09race

The F.C.C. TSR Honda France masterfully managed the grip variations and won the 8 Hours of Spa Motos with authority, at the end of a two-up race.

The Franco-Japanese team travelled to Belgium this week for the 8 Hours of Spa Motos, round 2 of the FIM EWC Championship held on 6 and 7 June 2025.

Qualifying in 4th position on the grid and with a high-performance package at its disposal, the team’s watchword was caution, in order to score as many points as possible at the end of a race expected to take place in difficult conditions.

At 12.30pm, on a dry track, French rider Corentin Perolari got off to an excellent start, completing the first lap in the lead and setting the race lap record straight away. With his compatriot Alan Techer, the two riders most at ease on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit alternated fast stints, setting new records on track until the first rain shower.
It happened at around 3pm and shortly after a pit stop, forcing Alan Techer to return to the pits to put on rain tyres. Leading by 6s, the #5 Honda CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade returned to the track in 3rd position.
From then on, sunshine and heavy showers followed one another right up to the chequered flag, putting the riders’ concentration to the test. But the two Frenchmen made no mistakes, setting an impressive pace without let-up. As a result, the team regained the lead with 1h30 to go.

The riders’ experience, the Honda’s performance and the strategic choices of Bridgestone tyres made by the technical team enabled F.C.C. TSR Honda France to extend its lead right up to the final minutes of the race, despite the extremely tricky track conditions. The team managed by Fuji San crossed the finish line as winners of the 8 Hours of Spa Motos, more than 50 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
With a total of 58 points from qualifying and the race, F.C.C. TSR Honda France has moved up to 4th in the provisional world championship standings.

All the championship’s protagonists will meet again on 3 August to take part in the Suzuka 8 Hours (Japan), round 3 of the 2025 FIM EWC season.

Alan Techer – rider

“For us, it’s incredible. We haven’t won for two years. Our last win was at Le Mans in 2023, and today we’re winning the race. It was a real challenge because this winter, we changed a lot of things in our team: the riders, the mechanics, the crew chief too. At Le Mans, we were unlucky and made a few mistakes. But we proved that we were fast. And now, for this race, we knew that we had a good pace in dry conditions, a little less than other teams in the rain. So we stayed focused, didn’t make any mistakes and the last few minutes felt like hours! It’s a great reward for us.”

Corentin Perolari – rider

“It was a bit of a tricky week, but Alan and I managed to adapt. Well done to him, well done to the team, well done to everyone ! The race wasn’t that easy. With these conditions, it was a bit like Le Mans, but even trickier. But we managed to avoid all the dangers. In any case, I’m really happy to finish in this way. We’d been fast all week and, above all, we didn’t make any mistakes during the race. I’m really pleased with this result.”
