F.C.C. TSR Honda France Forced to Retire from Suzuka 8 Hours – Eyes Set on a Comeback at the Bol d’Or

F.C.C. TSR Honda France retired from the 46th edition of the Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours after 1 hour and 10 minutes of racing due to a technical problem, and is now counting on the Bol d’Or to finish the season on a high.

After a strong victory at the 8 Hours of Spa Motos (Belgium), the team managed by Fuji San, currently 4th in the overall FIM EWC championship standings, took to the legendary Suzuka circuit this week to compete in the 3rd round of the 2025 EWC season. As in every year, this Japanese stage is one of the most demanding events on the calendar, with a technical track and extremely hot and humid weather conditions.

F.C.C. TSR Honda France fielded its three official riders, Alan Techer, Corentin Perolari and Taiga Hada, with the aim of scoring important points in the fight for the world title.
Starting from 14th on the grid, French rider Alan Techer rode a cautious first stint on the Honda CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade, without losing any positions. The oppressive heat did not prevent the rider from setting his pace, allowing the Franco-Japanese team to move into the top 10 on lap 19.

At the end of the first pit stop, Japanese rider Taiga Hada took over. A suspicious noise accompanied by a power loss forced the local rider to return to the pits a few laps later.
After a meticulous examination by the technical team, the dreaded diagnosis was confirmed. Corentin Perolari would not have the opportunity to take the controls of the #5 Honda, as the team was forced to withdraw from the race following an engine failure after only 1 hour and 10 minutes of racing.

F.C.C TSR Honda France is now in 6th place in the Championship, 30 points behind the leader. However, hope remains high for the team, which is already looking ahead to victory in the Bol d’Or, with its generous points distribution system.

All the championship contenders will therefore gather on September 20 for the final round of the 2025 FIM EWC season at the Bol d’Or, on the Paul Ricard circuit (France).

Alan Techer – rider

“For us, the race ended very early. I’m a little disappointed because the team worked very hard. After the crashes in practice, they built a new bike that worked very well. We worked a lot on the race pace. And when I started the race, I was able to ride at the pace we had planned. I didn’t hear any unusual noise, but when I handed the bike over to Taiga, he did two laps and had to stop. The race is over for us, but maybe not the championship. If we don’t win, we can still aim for the podium in the overall standings. That’s our goal, and our second goal is to win the Bol d’Or.”

Corentin Perolari – rider

“We didn’t focus on qualifying, but we had a good race pace. Alan did a very good first stint. And then Taiga left, there was a mechanical problem and I couldn’t do my stint. So it’s a real shame because we were 4th in the championship. We had a chance to finish in the top three in the championship. We’ll see what happens at the Bol d’Or final, because Alan and I are very fast there. I hope we’ll finish the year well.”

Taiga Hada – rider

“I’m disappointed not to have achieved the result I was aiming for, but I’ll take everything I’ve learned into the next race at the Bol d’Or and make sure I’m fully prepared.”
